Hello Fam!
In my very few years of living on this Earth,I have come to the realization of two very vital truths:
1: Friends are very important in the life of any human being.
2: As you grow, you would drop some friends along the way.
People find it easy to grasp the first much more than they do the second, and I think the reason is because the second signifies a kind of loss.
But the reality is friends have to come and go. Its just the way relationships has been designed to work. Many times,if we are truthful with ourselves, loosing some friends was just a breath of fresh air. Some people just carry bad luck and follow you everywhere. Lol.
I was chatting with a friend yesterday and I was telling him that If I count the number of friends I have in my life right now with my fingers,I won't use up the fingers on the first hand. Some years down the line,I had tons and tons of friends.
I am quite a friendly person,so making friends was never an issue for me in my younger years but I have realized that as I grow older, the very least things on my mind are making friends. And I think that its a trait that sometimes come with maturity and the knowledge that friendship isn't about number, its about sacrifice and adding value.
I was at a function in December last year where Pastor Chris Delvan Gwamna was preaching. I took a lot from what he said that day but this line stuck with me strong: 'Íf you are fifty and you can say that you have four friends. Then, count yourself blessed!'
The truth of the matter is that as you move from one season to another, some people have to leave and give space for new people that you need for that new season of your life. Its not because they or you are bad,its just life mehn!
I have to also mention that as much as some friends have to come and go,there are still some that God has connected you guys to stay together forever. Most times,it might just be one person in all the tons of people you call friends that would be that covenant friend. And that's okay.
Realizing this truth about friendships has helped me take my friends much seriously. If I'm going to have you as my friend for two days,I would give my all in those two days. I would value and give as much as is expected of me. Because I want to be able to think back on our friendship when we have parted ways for whatever reason and be able to say that,I INDEED GAVE MY ALL!
Friends come and friends go,but we can choose to make the moments we spend together as friends memorable by really giving our all! Because that my friend is what friendship is all about:
GIVING,GIVING AND GIVING!
God bless everyone who are giving their all to the relationships God placed into their hands. Being a good steward isn't just about being a good worker in church,it also means giving your best to everything that God has placed in your hands.
Thanks for reading,stay blessed!
